- Abstract:
- Objective: To explore the clinical effect of IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome) patients on Sanren Decoction combined with Tong Xie Yao Fang ( Important Formula for Painful Diarrhea) ． Method: The 86 cases of IBS patients hos- pitalized in Spleen and Stomach Department were randomly divided into treatment and control groups ( n = 43) ; the treat- ment group received the modified Sanren Decoction and Tong Xie Yao Fang，while the control group was given Pinaverium Bromide Pills，Montmorillonite Powder and Bifidobacterium Tetravaccine Tablets，both with 4 weeks a course，to compare the therapeutic effect of medicine in both groups． Ｒesults: The total effective rate of treatment group was 97． 7% and that of control group 74． 4% ，the difference compared the two groups had statistical meaning( P ＜ 0． 05) ． Conclusion: the effect of Sanren Decoction combined with Tong Xie Yao Fang in treating diarrhea of IBS patients significantly of treatment group superior to those patients of control group and it is worth further developing．
