- Objective To analyze the regularity of Chinese medicine application on ulcerative colitis with the help of TCMISS. Method CNKI database was used to search journals of TCM treatment on ulcerative colitis for the past five years,relevant literature was then summarized to establish database of prescriptions,and the data were recorded into TC- MISS to analyze the regularity of medicine application. Result data such as frequency of drug use,drug - use modes, common and potential drug pairs,matching prescriptions,four nature and five flavors and Channel Tropism were calculat- ed. Conclusion The most important drugs for the treatment of ulcerative colitis are atractylodes,liquorice,coptis chinen- sis,radix paeoniae alba,radix aucklandiae,poria cocos and so on. The treatment of ulcerative colitis mainly adopts the classic modified prescriptions with Shenling Baizhu powder as the most widely used one. Treatment on this disease mainly combines nourishing and diarrhea,cold and heat,tonifying spleen and stomach in the middle jiao,regulating qi - flowing for strengthening spleen,dispelling dampness and activating spleen - energy,invigorating spleen and removing dampness, clearing heat and eliminating dampness are the major thoughts. The main regulated organs are spleen,stomach and liver.Seven new prescriptions for the research and development of ulcerative colitis drugs are provided.
